Ancient Nomad
PART 3: Back on the road - South East Asia.

flag   Route Map    Phnom Penh, Cambodia   »  December 22, 2010

After the stupa and the monkeys, I went to the river. I like the place, spending my time by the Mekong, watching people and eventually the sun go down.

Photo:  Phnom Penh, Cambodia → There are people who live on and from the Mekong. They usually make their living fishing. Some have their homes, some don't - living out of their boats.

Photo:  Phnom Penh, Cambodia → More movement on the Mekong River, as they approach the shore to unload their goods. I think they also pick up things to take them to villages down the river, perhaps for sale, perhaps just for themselves.

Photo:  Phnom Penh, Cambodia → The Mekong River can be quite wide, and some ships on it quite big. I'd love to see it when the water levels are high.
