Photo: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand. Just few steps up and I am at the base of the chedi. There is the usual wrapping in orange cloth of the sacred monuments and statues, as well as any other objects connected to the religion worship, like trees.

     Nakhon Si Thammarat - Thailand
Photo: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand. Walking around I saw these two young boys. I am sure they live at the temple. They came up to the gong and started playing with it, rubbing their hands on it and making sounds.

     Nakhon Si Thammarat - Thailand
Photo: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand. There is also a group of sculptures of meditating monks. As always, they are life like and from a distance it's almost impossible to know if they are alive or man made. I also recognized a few faces from anoter temples, so these must be all the important monks in Thai Buddhism.

I spend perhaps 2 hours wandering around. This temple was great and I would really recommend seeing it. I recommend a visit to Nakhon Si Thammarat - definitely. Next a bus to Thun Song and North to Chumphon. It crossed my mind that this might be my last chance to see any islands in the near future, so I might go to Koh Tao for a few days. Chumphon is the place to catch a boat.

My life has always been about freedom and I shall continue to walk this path.
Safe travels ! ........... Stan
