Ancient Nomad
PART 3: Back on the road - South East Asia.

flag   Route Map     Penang, Malaysia   »  September 10, 2010

Still the same day, continuing from the previous page...

On the way back from the Snake Temple, already in Georgetown, there was a Chinese temple. The big sized incense were still burning, and made for a good photo shoot opportunity. This is exactly what I meant when saying Georgetown is full of surprises. Things like this po-up out of nowhere.

Anyway, below a few photos from that temple.

     Georgetown - Penang - Malaysia
Photo: Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. The temple. It was already getting dark.

Photo: Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. The incense they use is pretty thick. These are still thin in comparison to some I have seen - some the size of my thigh!

Photo: Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. Many of them have decorative motives, not to anyone's surprise dragons dominate the theme. It's Chinese after all. The incense somehow looked of different color, depending on the light and background, offering different dynamics with different camera settings.

Photo: Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. With the changing light and approaching night, the mood was falling into the twilight... the smoke, the shapes in the background fading away.

Photo: Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. There is a Hindu shrine next to the Chinese temple - this is what I call diversity!

The Snake Temple, the Chinese temple and a good curry meal on the way back is what makes a great day in Penang. Yet again, Penang didn't fail.

My life has always been about freedom and I shall continue to walk this path.
Safe travels ! ........... Stan
