Cameron Highlands: Tanah Rata, Malaysia »

I arrived here yesterday. It's in the mountainous area of Malaysia, in the middle of it. The air here is fresh and it gets quite cold at night - I need two blankets and I sleep in my pants. But the mornings can get quite hot. It also rains from about 2 pm, so basically only mornings are good to explore and take photos.
I am staying at Father's Guest House. So far the best deal for the price - 10 Ringgit for a dorm bed and the place is clean and located on a hill with a pretty view. Internet is extra 5 Ringgit for the length of my stay. It is a great deal. I am happy here and I would recommend this place to anyone.
This part of Malaysia is known for strawberry growing. They also have lettuce, and many types of cacti. You can see greenhouses right and left, and the hills are being (unfortunately) rapidly deforested with one only goal - to build more.
There are also large tea growing farms here. They are very pretty. They have specialized tour to the farms but I didn't join them - I need to watch my money. I will see tea plantations in Sri Lanka, when I get there one day.
Overall, I would say Cameron Highlands is a nice place to visit and relax. Look at the mountains, take hiking trails, eat some food and just feel fresh in the cool air after sweating it elsewhere.
Today I went to a park and a strawberry farm. I am not running around like crazy trying to see it all. I am taking it easy, writing the blog and relaxing.
After the park I went to a Hindu Temple. Pretty cool sculptures there. I met there two guys and one girl from Iran. They study English in Kuala Lumpur. Super friendly and funny people! We went to the farm together and walked around until their bus left at 5:30. Now I have another country on my list I'd love to visit - Iran. I will post photos from the farm tomorrow.

The Hindu Temple is almost next to the park. I just enjoyed taking close up and detail photos, so here are a few of the temple. It is nothing extraordinary from the outside, but inside it offers a few interesting sculptures.
