My favorite Mekong River. I am not the only one ;) Luckily this photo is nice and sharp, and I will be able to make biger prints form it (Nikon... and the D300.... my nightmare)

The area is patrolled by tourist police. I don't know how effective this is, but I am sure their presence scares away some thieves. I have heard many stories about
Phnom Penh, but I felt safe there. I got ripped off, and lost money, but that was only because I trusted the wrong people and this should have never happened.
I used to live in Japan, and they don't take advantage of people there like in the South East Asian countries. Also, there are many Asians in Vancouver, where I lived for a few years. So,
coming here to Asia wasn't much of a cultural shock for me. In a way I felt at home, lowering my guard. But the lesson to remember is that it's not the same.
People can be friendly, but they have a bit different mentality. They see tourists as walking ATM machines, and that means money.

A shot from a balcony of my hotel. I'd say this pretty well describes the urban Phnom Penh. Busy, but nothing like Vietnam. Especially Hanoi, which is crazy (pictures will follow).

Back to the water front. It's a really nice area to walk and relax. Especially at dawn, when it's getting a bit cooler. I haven't found
Phnom Penh hot at this time of the year anyway. It's pretty nice.

There are people fishing all the time. I think most of the catch is cat fish, but I have seen them pulling out some other small silver river goodies. Yummy -
I will meet them tomorrow at the market ;)

One of my last moments in Phnom Penh and what a good one. I am pissed off that I can't take good potos thanks to Nikon, and just couldn't help but be sarcastic.
'Enjoy Together' - what? Nikon cameras??? I think Nikon owes me an apology in a form of a brand new one. They can have this one for testing and hopefully imprrove what they produce and sell.

Time to go home. Home??? Hmm.... my Guest House. I am still searching for home. But who cares about that except me right now where I am. I think the most difficult thing in life
is to find really like-minded people. Espesially those whom you can also like in other ways.
