PART 3: Back on the road - South East Asia.
![]() ![]()
So many pages covering the Angkor Wat! And all on the same day. But it's a huge complex, with so many things to see.
![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → We got here after about 20 minutes. It's 13:23. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → The structure is not very impressive in the way other temples are, but it looks strong, solid and mysterious to me. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → You pass trough the gate, and voila.... this is one of the most famous places of the whole Angkor Wat temples complex. It's 'the tree of Angkor'. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → A vertical shot. Luckily, there are still no people here. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → The incredible thing about this form, which is almost like a sculpture made of stone and tree, is when you throw time into the equation. Things change and get a whole new perspective. You realize that you see is nothing more than virtual reality. The calmness and stillness is an illusion. What you really are looking at is a process, a movement. The tree is constantly flowing like a liquid, over the stones, hugging them. A battle, visible only with the eye of your imagination. Entanglement of human craftsmanship and natures own forces. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → Just a few minutes later, the tourists. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → As you walk around, you can see more trees trying to conquer the temple. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → I am not sure if these carved scenes are from daily life or battles. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → But for sure one battle is present - it's between man made structures and nature. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → Great for taking pictures!. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → But taking good photo can be a challenge There are lots of traffic at this time, and everyone wants to take a photos in front of the same favorite spots! ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → Ta Prohm is famous for the growing there trees. So, exploring further, there are more fine examples of this nature vs. man exhibition. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → This one is pretty cool, and it looks even better from up close. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → The magic door. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → And of course the tourists are there. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → Another example of the overgrowing tree. This one is actually may favorite. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → Also this one, as if the tree was crawling on the wall from behind. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → More crawling trees. ![]() Photo: Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, Cambodia → And more people looking at them. ![]() Photo:

This is the other side of Ta Prohm, after leaving it. It's 14:27, so we have spent here exactly one hour. To see it, take photos, this is a required minimum.
Off to another location.
