Coming back I stopped at a cave temple. I didn't take the big photo of the entrance to the cave temple. I have been to Ipoh recently, plus in general, lots of the Thailand's temples are quite too bright in all this glamor and gold to me. Plus, unlike temples in Japan for example, where everything is aged and you feel like it has a soul, in Thailand, most of these displays are made just recently with concrete, without much sophistication (I am talking about the many many recent ones). It's sort og like - a shohw of how much you love the spiritual path, and the mor glitter the more pure you are. Many people, even some Thais, say it's all abotu the money in Thailand. The land of a 1000 smiles lost them. From my experience, looking at some crude but covered in gold statues, and the touts at tourists places, this actually might be true.
