PART 3: Back on the road - South East Asia.
Route Map Hat Yai, Thailand » September 20 - 24, 2010 Hat Yai again! This time I know the city. After all I lived here for a month. It feel in a way like coming back home. People recognize me and smile. The fried chicken lady smiled when she saw me from maybe 10 meter away. She has tthe best fried chicken I ever had. Deep fried but not oily and juicy. And the seasoning is also fantastic! She is next to the noodle shop, and the girl there also smiled and new me right away. After all I was there almost every day. Two days passed in Hat Yai, but with all the warm welcome right now I don't feel the same somehow. Maybe because hat Yai was the first city here, maybe because it was the beginning of my come back to Asia? I don't know. Maybe I just have seen more places afterwards. Maybe I crossed the threshold and can't stick it out in the same place for too long? Again, I don't know. Sometimes I am feeling like I am tired of having no home. I guess I should put up myself for adoption, ha ha But not to drift to far from the subject, back to my visual diary. A few new photos - just streets of Hat Yai. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. A washed out photo - in the mid-day the sun is really strong here and makes all the colors look the same, and I didn't have the polarizing filter with me. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Two ladies in funky hats selling food. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. This photos could be part of me Siesta series. That is if I was putting it together ;) Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. More Hat Yai street. Not the main one, or the center, but this is what it looks like when you go further from it. The city gets rustic and things get cheaper. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Veggies on the sidewalk. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. More Hat Yai street. A very curious looking catfish. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Duck eggs. I still don't know what's the deal here, so if someone does please leave a comment. I like the regular salted duck eggs, I am sure these are equally good. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Proud grandpa. He asked me to take a photo of him and the baby. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Getting the coconut meat. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Dead or alive. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Like a painters palette. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Equally busy when you look up. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Back in the center, from the Mayfair Hotel, close to McDonald's where I was picking up free WiFi. I saw this staircase and flowers and took a photo of them. Very low light, it will look good in black and white. Another day, I think it was 23rd, I wandered around and found this place by the canal. Or is it a small river cutting through the city. Pretty nice. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Flower bushes. I am not sure about their name, but they smell like the best perfume. Actually, I think they make perfume like this. I love it. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. Nice flower and a great smell. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. More Hat Yai streets on the way back to the hotel. Photo: Hat Yai, Thailand. My life has always been about freedom and I shall continue to walk this path. Safe travels ! ...........
