PART 3: Back on the road - South East Asia.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia » August 12, 2010 15:19. I am on a bus to Kuantan. A city on the East coast. I am glad to get away from the big city. On my last day in Kuala Lumpur I went to the Twin Towers. I didn't get there early enough to get one of the free tickets to go to the observation level, but I didn't really tried to get there. Plus, I was tired after two nights with bed bugs at the hostel dorm. They put me in a double room, finally, and the second night there was fine. The next day I saw them finally tearing apart the dorm (I slept there two months ago and I was also bitten by bed bugs). The next night, unfortunately, they moved a guy from the dorm to my room and I think he brought the bed bugs with him, because I was bitten at night again. Today, ion the bus, I just saw and killed two of them coming out of my sock. I am hoping these were the only riders I took along with me. I will check for them tonight at the new place, but I think if there would be any more they will die when I walk in the full sun. I am looking forward to seeing some beaches and swimming in the ocean. Also, my plan is to go to the Perhentian Islands and dive there. Hopefully I will be ready for it in a week. Back to the topic - the towers. It's a few short stops from Chinatown, where I slept. From Pasar Seni Station to KLCC, 1.60 Ringgit on a freezing train. On the way I took a few photos of Kuala Lumpur and the Twin Towers - my last KL photos. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Graffiti around Pasar Seni Station. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. To the towers you have to get off at the KLCC station. They have an interesting system in Kuala Lumpur - the platform is fenced off from the tracks and they open the door after the train stops. Of course the train also has doors.. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The train has arrived. Actually, they also have a similar system in Jakarta for the Trans Jakarta buses. You walk up on a platform and the glass door opens only after the bus arrives and opens it's own doors first. It's a pretty safe system. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Approaching the Towers (on the left). Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The first look up - these are pretty tall buildings! Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The entrance. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is where people working in the towers go. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. There is also a shopping center connected to the towers. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Now a couple of alternative views of the Kuala Lumpur twin towers. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The KL Twin Towers - more geometry at play. I must say that the towers are pretty photogenic, and these photos will also look great in black and white, and of course in high resolution in my book :) Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The KL Twin Towers, like a part of some sort of alien machinery. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Towers and sunset. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Leaving the Towers. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The last view of the area, and off to catch the bus to Kuantan. Photo: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. On the way back a photo with a pretty local girl :) Good bye KL! Till next time. My life has always been about freedom and I shall continue to walk this path. Safe travels ! ........... Stan Check out my Photography Portfolio |
