Vancouver, Canada - February 24, 2010
I went to see the Olympic torch. There were crowds of people around the place to see it. I am not sure what to think of it, really.. Nice in a way, but having it behind a simple fence does not impress me. Sure, it's for security reasons, but it takes away from the experience. Why not to make it all look more natural, have a fitting the occation viewing arena, put something more pleasant yet serving the purpose ? There was so much money spend on the Olympics, but perhaps the priority for the organizers were their lavish dinners, parties and hotels.

And here something I heard from many people was a bit ridiculous - the Olympic circles parked in the middle out there with a background of the mounds of industrial sulfur. What were they thinking ? Were they on 'BC bud' or trying to pitch sulfur sales ?
