Next is a temple. I think this is Preah Khan. Quite complex. Lots of passages, sculptures, surprises. It originally served as a Buddhist monastery and school for over 1000 monks.
It was constructed in the late 12th Century

They are a bit weathered, but still in great shape. Lot's of character, great detail.

There are some hidden places like this. You have to walk around and discover them, since they are not exactly on the main path. I am wondering if there was water there
at the time. Would had been beautiful, with fish, some plants.

Exploring further, to another part of this area which seems to consist of a few distinct places.

A long passage, with the height of the 'doors' changing.

There were relics inside, like this one. Still there, after all these years. Amazing.

Some structures have been invaded by trees. This mix of nature and man made temples is famous and is associated with the Angkor Wat complex.
This is just one small example, and there is a temple that I will see very soon, which is famous for this type of images. I am looking forward to see it.

Another gate, and wondering what's behind it.

There was an open area and a wall with a tree growin on top of it.

The ancient dancers. So many sculptures dancing females. I am sure this represents what was happening at the temples centuries ago - celebrations, lots of dancing and performances.

Exploring further, I saw this curiously looking building with pillars. Very ancient Rome looking like in it's imaginary.

Another tree. This one has been cut down to protect the ruins from damage.

The pillars ups close. This looks quite different from everything else. I wonder what was its purpose.

I don't really know what to comment on these places - there are so many of them, all unique, and I don't know what purpose everyone of them was serving in it's time.
