Ancient Nomad
PART 3: Back on the road - South East Asia.

flag   Route Map     Chumphon & Koh Tao, Thailand   »  October 02, 2010

I arrived in Chumphon at 11:20 pm, so still practically on the 1 st of October, but I guess it is safe to post what's next as October 2 nd.

The overnight boat to Koh Tao, the cheap one that cost 200 Baht, already left at 11. There were two ladies from a travel agency at the station trying to suggest their agency and hotel. I checked the prices and agreed to take them up on their offer - the boat for 550 Baht including van ride to the pier. They also offered a free taxi to one hotel and the room for 150 Baht. Not bad and easy.

The room was very nice - the nicest I had so far on this trip. It normally cost 260, but I got it for 150. Beautiful bathroom, huge bed, all tiles and fresh towels. Next morning leaving very early. I had a great sleep.

I found a place and rented my own bungalow for 200 Baht. Nothing fancy at all, just a simple one room bamboo bungalow. Shared toilet and shower outside. I have a fan and a porch where I can sit. Concrete bungalows with toilet and taile floor cost 400 Baht.

The weather became really nice. It's sunny. I think I will walk around a bit.

My life has always been about freedom and I shall continue to walk this path.
Safe travels ! ........... Stan
