So here I am, finally. Nicaragua. Managua. Tired, I took the $20 taxi from the airport. I know I have overpaid, but it's late and I just want to be at the hotel.
I am here only for two days. I'd like to see some of Managua, but everyone tells me that there is not much to see here, so I am not very inspired.
I took a walk around a bit, not very far, to the Metro Centro which is a shopping mall and a landmark. I also went to eat some fish at a close by restaurant.
A little expensive, but highly recommended!
So, three photos from Managua only this time.
Photo: Managua, Nicaragua → The street leading to Metro Centro. I had a coffee at McDonalds. To get to my hotel I take the street to the left in front of McDonalds. It's about 8 minutes from there, Hostal Managua Backpackers.
Photo: Managua, Nicaragua → Metro Centro. Just a shopping mall. Buses to Granada and Masaya leave from here. Tomorrow I will go to Masaya.
Photo: Managua, Nicaragua → Fish filet parmesane. Superb! Huge, fresh, tasty. Expensive by Nicaraguan standards, at 175 Cordobas (1 dollar = 24 Cordobas), but cheap by Canadian standards. They also add Vat and propina here, so all cost even a little more. Well worth it though, to stay healthy and lift my spirits up :)
